FRENZEL Spritz in a wine glass with ice cubes, grapefruit slice and mint - refreshing summer drink with liqueur, Prosecco and soda

FRENZEL Rosé Spritz

Enjoy our refreshing FRENZEL Rosé Spritz with FRENZEL Grapefruit! An elegant variation on the classic Spritz with the special flavour of Prosecco Rosé - perfect for special occasions and relaxed summer evenings.
Servings: 1
Course: Aperitif, drinks, spritz
Cuisine: International, Italian

Ingredients

  • 6 cl FRENZEL Grapefruit
  • 9 cl Prosecco Rosé
  • 2 cl Soda water
  • Ice cubes
  • 1 Grapefruit or orange

Equipment

  • 1 wine glass
  • 1 jigger

Method

  1. Prepare the glass: Prepare a large wine glass or shot glass (ideally a balloon or Copa glass). Optionally, place the glass in the freezer briefly beforehand to pre-chill it.
  2. Fill with ice: Fill the glass generously with ice cubes. The ice should reach almost to the rim to keep the drink cool for a long time.
  3. Add FRENZEL Grapefruit: Pour 60 ml (6 cl) of FRENZEL Grapefruit over the ice cream. The liquid should be evenly distributed over the ice cream.
  4. Top up with Prosecco Rosé: Carefully pour 90 ml (9 cl) of well-chilled Prosecco Rosé into the glass along the glass wall to retain the carbon dioxide. Hold the glass at a slight angle.
  5. Stir carefully: Using a bar spoon, carefully stir once from bottom to top so that the FRENZEL Grapefruit and Prosecco Rosé mix well. Do not stir too vigorously to preserve the carbon dioxide.
  6. Top with soda: Top the drink with around 30 ml (3 cl) of ice-cold soda water to give the spritz extra effervescence. The amount can be adjusted according to personal taste.
  7. Prepare the garnishCut a slice of grapefruit or orange. Optionally, make a small incision in the slice to attach it to the rim of the glass.
  8. Garnish and serveAttach the grapefruit or orange slice to the rim of the glass. Optionally, add a sprig of rosemary as an additional flavour garnish. If required, insert a straw into the glass. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

🌸 ROSÉ-ELEGANCE: The Prosecco Rosé gives this spritz an elegant pink colour and a fruity, berry note that harmonises perfectly with the grapefruit. Ideal for special occasions!
🍊 GARNITURE TIP: Pink grapefruit is a perfect colour match for pink Prosecco and enhances the grapefruit flavour. Alternatively, a slice of blood orange provides a dramatic colour contrast.
🌿 HERB GARNISH: A sprig of fresh rosemary gives the drink a Mediterranean flavour. Slap the rosemary between your palms before serving to release the essential oils.
☀️ SERVING TIME: Ideal as an aperitif before a Mediterranean or Italian menu. Also perfect for brunch, garden parties or as a welcome drink at celebrations.

Notes

🍋 FRESH LEMON JUICE IS A MUST: This is the golden rule for sours! Never use bottled lemon juice. Freshly squeezed juice makes the difference between an average and an outstanding cocktail.
🥃 SOUR-FAMILY: The sour is one of the most important cocktail categories and follows the classic formula: Spirit + citrus + sweetness. The FRENZEL Sour is a fruity variation of this iconic cocktail.
🥚 PREMIUM VARIANT WITH PROTEIN: For a „FRENZEL Sour Deluxe“, add 1.5 cl fresh egg white (or 2 cl Aqua Faba). First „dry shake“ without ice (10 seconds), then shake again with ice. Results in a velvety texture with a nice head of foam.
⚖️ BALANCE IS EVERYTHING: The ratio of sweet to sour is crucial. The standard ratio of 6:3:2 (spirit:citrus:sweetness) is a good starting point. Adjust according to personal taste.
